About Ronaldo Rodriguez (Rony)

Ronaldo Rodriguez who is known professionally as Rony, is a very talented and inspiring American rapper, singer, and songwriter. He was born on September 6, 1999, in Mission Viejo, CA, USA.

Later, He moved to Portland, Oregon when he was 5 years old with his mom and brother. As of 2023, Ronaldo is 24 years old with around 5 feet and 9 inches tall in height. He is best known for his singles ‘Red Bottoms’, and ‘No Cap’.

Educational Qualification

Ronaldo Rodriguez aka Rony began learning to play clarinet in middle school but decided Band class was not for him. So, he began to rap over YouTube beats at the age of 13 and fell in love with the rap game.

Unfortunately, Rony ran into some legal troubles early in his youth and was unable to focus on his passion. In 2018, Rony graduated from Southridge High School. But, was unable to walk due to poor grades. He was devastated that his mom couldn’t see him walk across the stage as the first graduate in the family.

In the Fall of 2018, Rony attended Portland Community College to study business but later dropped out to pursue music full-time.  Rony started playing music again at the age of 20 and knew this was what he wanted to do as a career.

Please tell us more about your music and what it takes to go into the creation of a song.

Songwriting is also one of the many skills I always had growing up. Although I never knew it, I always enjoyed writing stories. And, I do believe it helps me write music much quicker. For me, it’s an art form, a way to express yourself and show the world your thoughts. There’s a lot that goes into bringing a song together. I like to think of it as writing a very short book. The songwriting, recording, mixing, mastering, etc. I enjoy every step of the process and don’t see it as work.

What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your music career?

I wouldn’t say I have a strategy, I’m learning everything as I go. As an independent artist, I like to educate myself on the business side, as well as learn the streaming side of things. With making contacts with other artists, hard work, and determination I’ve accomplished whatever I put my mind to.

Chase your dreams no matter what. At the end of the day, you control your own story. Everything always comes to light, so whether you were in the gym practicing your free shot or not, you’ll see when it truly matters. “Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard”.
